Volunteer With Us
Everyone can find a place to give back at one of our centers.
At Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas, our volunteers are a vital part of our team and make a lasting difference in our clients’ lives. Volunteers add an extra layer of support to clients, their families, visitors, agency staff, and fellow volunteers.
Minimum age to volunteer is 18. Full day, morning (8am to 12pm), or afternoon (12pm to 5pm) weekday shifts are available, depending on the area assigned. Specific shift availability and duties will be discussed during your initial interview. Each volunteer will receive appropriate training and orientation according to the assigned area of service.
Steps to complete prior to becoming a volunteer with Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas:
- Complete a Volunteer Application (Link and information below)
- Submit to a background check if applying for Head Start worksite
Examples of places our volunteers serve are:
- Head Start/Early Head Start Child Development Centers (children birth to age 5)
- Adult Education
- Senior Citizen Centers
- Health Clinic (only eligible for students pursing Nursing Degree, CNA, CMA or related)
